My mother [Marina] and father met via a friend.  He was relocated via Standard bank from Umtata to Ugie.  He stayed in a room by Mrs. Alet van Dyk, whose daughter was friends with my mother and thus got introduced.  They got married and we moved around quite a lot.  He passed away in 1991 in Elliot and was laid to rest in his home town - Lady Grey.

My mother currently resides in Ladysmith - KZN

They had 3 children:

Benjamin Buys [Bennie] - Also in Ladysmith
Frans Johannes [Johan] - Myself - In Pretoria
Jean Mari - Also in Ladysmith
